LIVE UPDATES
…
11.00pm – It has been a bit of a slog today but thank you for joining us. Perhaps this is the end of the January transfer window as we know it, we will have to see. However you rate Palace’s dealings in this window, we are very much looking foward to seeing Adam Wharton and Daniel Munoz showing us what they are capable of. See you at the Amex on Saturday. Goodnight!
10.46pm – After the trip to Brighton, Palace host Chelsea on the 12th, head to Everton on the 19th, before taking on Burnley at Selhurst on the 24th.
10.41pm – In the Premier League tonight, Manchester United were involved in a crazy game at Molineux which needed an injury time winner for them to beat Wolves 4-3. At the London Stadium, West Ham came from behind to take a point against Bournemouth with the game ending 1-1.
10.39pm – Our match review will go live tomorrow ahead of the game at the Amex on Saturday, which is a rare 3pm kick off for the fixture.
10.33pm – This weekend sees Palace take on Brighton for the 111th occassion, winning 38, drawing 31 and losing 41.
10.31pm – Very much a tumbleweed moment right now, so time to start looking ahead to the game down on the South Coast this weekend.
10.15pm – Steve Parish on signing Munoz – “We are delighted to welcome a player of Daniel’s quality and character to the club. He has experience at the highest level for club and country, and he possesses an impressive record going forward for a full-back. I am certain his ability, athleticism and tenacity will be a huge boost to the squad for the remainder of the season, and beyond.”
10.11pm – On signing for Palace, Munoz said, “It’s a pleasure for me to be here at such a historic club, such a big club as Crystal Palace. I’m very excited, very happy, and I can’t wait to be on the pitch.”
10.08pm – Who is Daniel Munoz and what can we expect?
Munoz played his football in his home nation of Colombia until 2020, before moving to Genk for his first taste of European football. The 27-year-old has been a mainstay for them since, lifting the Belgian cup in his first season at the club. Munoz made his national team debut in 2021, and has played 22 matches for his country in all.
He was one of the key members of Genk’s squad, contributing to the offensive and defensive side of the game both in and out of possession. He topped the touch rankings for the squad, while his passing and defensive stats mean Palace fans can expect a well-rounded, all action full-back.
Munoz’s most eye-catching trait is arguably his goals and assist tallies. The Colombian has already scored six goals this season, which is the same amount of goals that fellow Crystal Palace right-backs Joel Ward and Nathaniel Clyne have ever scored in their combined outings for the club. Last season, Munoz registered seven goals and seven assists in 30 league appearances, figures many attacking midfielders would be proud of.
While it will likely be difficult for Munoz to recreate these numbers in the Premier League, there’s no doubt that Palace are likely getting a more modern full-back than Ward or Clyne. Eagles fans have been crying out for a Munoz-style player since the departure of Aaron Wan-Bissaka in 2019 and maybe their wait is over.
10.05pm – So let’s have a recap. On Tuesday, Palace signed Colombian right-back Daniel Munoz from Genk on a three-year deal worth £6.8m with a further year option. Earlier on today, the Eagles added Blackburn Rovers midfielder Adam Wharton for an initial fee of £18m, potentially rising to £22m.
10.00pm – Here we are, into the final hour of Transfer Deadline Day. We have got through breakfast, lunch and dinner and managed an afternoon kip which means we are still going strong!
9.47pm – In other news, the officials for the game against Brighton on Saturday are – Referee: Simon Hooper. Assistants: Adrian Holmes, Simon Long. Fourth official: James Bell. VAR: Craig Pawson. Assistant VAR: Adam Nunn.
9.20pm – Adam Wharton joins a long list of players that have played for both Blackburn Rovers and Crystal Palace such as Matt Jansen, Paul Warhurst, Marcus Bent, Alex Marrow and Scott Dann.
9.06pm – Rumoured Palace target Chuba Akpom has had interest from Nottingham Forest who had an initial bid turned down by Ajax.
9.00pm – Just the two hours left of the window to get through, and we are determined after starting this live blog at 8.30 this morning. We must be mad, eh?!?
8.58pm – Sacha Boey, who Palace fans were hoping more than anything about being linked with in recent windows, has signed for Bayern Munich from Galatasaraay for £25million.
8.17pm – Palace still have two loan spots that can be used. Could we bring in one more before the deadline?
8.00pm – Three hours of the window remaining and we will be honest, not expecting any mre business from Palace. A combined outlay of over £25million in a few days is probably more than we expected rather than hoped. Two very good signings and looking forward to seeing them both play.
7.50pm – Adam Wharton has posted a nice message for Blackburn Rovers fans on his social pages starting by saying that “it is time to say goodbye…“
7.02pm – While you wait for more news, update and reaction from the team here at TEB HQ, make sure you check out our interview with Rebecca Lowe – certainly one of our best yet!
TEB Exclusive Interview: Rebecca Lowe talks Palace, Parish and the Premier League

6.54pm – In other news, our tickets for Brighton at the weekend have arrived in our inbox.
6.43pm – That may well conclude the business for Palace in this window, but Daniel Munoz and Adam Wharton are solid signings in positions of need.
6.41pm – Adam Wharton on signing for Palace – “I’ve always wanted to play in the Premier League and to play for such a big club like Crystal Palace is a great honour. The way they’ve brought players from the Championship and developed them into world-class players in the Premier League is something that stood out to me, and it’s a big reason why I wanted to come here.”
6.40pm – Steve Parish on Wharton signing – “I’m delighted that Adam, a player whose rapid development we have followed closely, has decided to join us at Crystal Palace. Adam’s consistently impressive performances for Blackburn at such a young age have understandably caught the eye of many a club, but we believe Palace to be – as has so often been the case in recent years – the perfect place to harness his undoubted potential, and we look forward to working with him in the years ahead to do so.”
6.37pm – Maxwel Cornet has been named on the bench for West Ham tonight which probably ends any potential loan deal for him.

6.22pm – Paris St-Germain forward Hugo Ekitike has joined German side Eintracht Frankfurt on loan until the end of the season with an option to make it permanent. A striker we were linked with at the end of the summer.
5.59pm – Could we be seeing the end of the January transfer window? Would you rather is wasn’t a thing? Just have the oprtunity to sign players in the off season only?
5.39pm – We know exactly how it is going to go. We will take a break from this live blog and it will all start happening…
5.27pm – It has been a long day of nothingness pretty much, and several hours still to go. We are expecting the Wharton reveal video to be an absolute masterpiece!
5.07pm – Malcolm Ebiowei has joined RWD Molenbeek on loan until the end of the season.
5.05pm – Well, the clock is ticking down to the 11pm deadline so less 6 hours remaining. We are still waiting for the Wharton announcement.
4.34pm – Looking more and more likely that Nottingham Forest sign Matz Sels from Strasbourg, so Sam Johnstone will stay at Palace.
4.05pm – We are hearing that Daniel Munoz is fit and ready to play against Brighton on Saturday, and could start.

https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/first-team/behind-the-scenes-daniel-munoz-first-days/
3.48pm – Reports in Belgium suggest 6 month loan deal has been done for Malcolm Ebiowei to RWD Molenbeek.

2.41pm – No surprise that after the financial penalties being handed out while others being investigated, this is arguably the slowest January transfer window for quite some time. Palace could end up being one of the busiest Premier League clubs.
2.05pm – Another suggestion for best January signing by Palace from Jon Hanna, Mamadou Sakho from Liverpool on loan.
1.49pm – While we have a lull in proceedings, remember that TEB are all across social media so stay in touch through X (formerly Twitter), Facebook and Instagram.
1.42pm – The January 2023 transfer window saw Albert Sambi Lokonga join Palace on loan from Arsenal and Naouirou Ahamada for £10million from Stuttgart.
1.30pm – Another Palace outgoing could well be goalkeeper Joe Whitworth as the club has had interest to take him on loan for the rest of the season.
1.11pm – They were not signings in the January transfer window, but were Jordan Ayew (£2million in August 2018) and Joel Ward (£400k in May 2012) two of the best value deals Palace have ever done?
1.05pm – All is quiet on the South London front. Waiting for the Adam Wharton announcement. Will there be one or two more in the door to follow? Will Cornet or Broja join?
12.45pm – More suggestions for the best and worst January signings by Palace from the team here at TEB HQ. Scott Dann improved us immeasurably in that first January window. Erdal Rakip (below) – less said the better about that one!
12.41pm – Want to find out more about Daniel Munoz? Check out the Sky Sports video looking at the value in the signing.
12.36pm – While the transfer window closes today at 11pm in England, it is 5pm in Germany, 7pm in Italy and 10pm in France.
12.28pm – Armando Broja seems to be the player being touted around the Premier League today. Chelsea rate him at £50million and want £5million in a loan deal for the rest of the season. Showed good form when on loan at Southampton and then suffered from a bad injury which he is still working his way back from. Worth a punt?
12.06pm – Said Benrahma has travelled to France to sign for Lyon but there remains an issue with agent fees, but he is expected to sign. This may scupper any hopes Palace had of signing Cornet, even though it is suggested that Roy Hodgson is ‘not keen‘.
12.04pm – We head into the afternoon stint after a relatively quiet morning on Transfer Deadline Day. Send us your comments in the section below this article and we will respond in this live blog.

10.58am – Another potential outgoing is Jean-Philippe Mateta who has been rumoured to interest Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen and La Liga side Real Betis. It is unlikely any such deal would take place unless Palace are able to bring in another striker.
10.44am – Malcolm Ebiowei is expected seal a loan deal before the end of the day as it is clear that he needs game time in the absence of any opportunity in the Palace first team. He could well follow Tayo Adaramola who joined Molenbeek on loan.
10.41am – Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson says “Eze and Olise the best I’ve played with“
