After a successful weekend in the Premier League, the games continue to come thick and fast with European duty up next with a second away trip in the Conference League.
This will be the fourth European fixture for the Eagles and just the second away from home against what is expected to be the most difficult opponents in this league phase of the competition.
Oliver Glasner and his men head to France off the back of a good Premier League win on Saturday at bottom of the table Wolves.
While it was not the best performance, it was a professional one and very much a case of getting the job done, and away from home.
As we enter a very hectic final month of the calendar year, it is also a pivotal one with the culmination of the league phase of the Conference League and a League Cup semi final at the Premier League leaders.
This is a key fixture with the Eagles having managed two wins and a loss in the three European games to date. Taking a point from this one is likely to set the South London side on their way. They currently sit in 9th place in the table, level on points with Fiorentina in 8th, with Strabourg a further point ahead in 7th.
There are no injury concerns other Borna Sosa not making the trip due to a knock in training. All other players are fit and ready, although Jean Philippe Mateta is nursing a knee injury which he carried into the Wolves game after international duty for France. Eddie Nketiah completed his return from injury with a lively cameo at the weekend, and we believe Chadi Riad is not far away from returning to the squad.
The French side have been battling at the upper end of the table this season but narrowly lost to former Palace striker Odsonne Edouard’s Lens at the weekend which saw RC Strasbourg drop down to fifth in the table.
There will be on familiar face the opposition ranks, with Ben Chilwell now plying his trade over in the East of France. The defender who spent time on loan at Selhurst Park last season securing an FA Cup winners medal, has spoken very fondly of his short stint in South London. To date, he has made eight appearances for the Ligue 1 side, the same amount of appearances he made for Palace.
