Forget all the noise that has been around the club and certain players this past week, this outstanding win makes it 14 games unbeaten across all competitions, the longest ever run as a top-flight team in the history of the club.

POST GAME QUOTES
OLIVER GLASNER
“Huge credit to the players. How they played, the performance, there was some moments where we were under pressure and we had to suffer. One big chance in the first half and this is the quality of Villa. Honestly, we scored the goals in the right moments, so I am really pleased with this game. It was our fifth game in two weeks and most of the players played every single game. The performance and the win is great.”
JEAN-PHILIPPE MATETA
“We are tired. We give everything. A lot of games and we deserve to finish with this win. We work very hard. We have a fantastic manager and fantastic staff. We watched the video, and we did everything on the pitch and that’s why it is working. We sacrifice a lot. We know we must play all the game. We sacrifice for the team. We have a great group. Hopefully we keep winning.”
MARC GUEHI
“It’s been a tough month. We’ve played six games, so a few more than other teams, but credit to the team. Thank God that most of us are healthy and we get to play football every day with this manager and this staff. We’re all looking forward to what’s next.
CHRIS RICHARDS
“You see how close-knit this team is and you can see that on the field. we love each other and we all get along. There was a stigma in the past that we are content to stay in the middle of the table but we want to win trophies and win a lot of games. Hopefully by the end of the season we can win a lot more games.”
UNAI EMERY
“Frustrated yes, but we played the first half well and followed the game plan we were expecting and we were dominating the match. We were not creating good chances, we had one very good one but we were dominating. In the first three games we have started badly but, the transfer window finishes Monday and I am confident for the next matches after this week.”

TEB VERDICT
A first half of absolute quality from the Eagles who could easily have been mistaken for the home team. They dealt with a early flurry from the hosts but that soon ended as Palace took control of the game and went in at the break with a deserved lead thanks to great work from Daichi Kamada ending in a penalty kick which Jean-Philippe Mateta converted.
There had to be a reaction after the break but there was nothing more than some huffing and puffing which the visitors dealt with before an exquisite goal from Marc Guehi doubled the lead, as the captain took a leaf out Ebere Eze’s book. It got even better, as Ismaila Sarr netted like he always like to do against Villa to make it a convincing first three points of the season and stretch the excellent unbeaten run.
This was an excellent team performance, a too many individual performances to mention which says it all, and we got to get a glimpse of new signing Yeremy Pino. This group of players play for each other and never more evident that this game, but a quick mention to Daichi Kamada, as perhaps we already had a readymade replacement for Eze….
