If you would have said that the Eagles receive a guard of honour ahead of the final game of the season at Anfield, we would have found that hilarious.
The final game of the campaign signals a truly memorable season having achieved a record points haul in the Premier League for the club and winning the FA Cup. We still pinch ourselves that we head into the Europa League next season and also take part in the curtain raiser to the season at Wembley again (Ole, Ole!)
Of course, the match ended up being a side event but the Eagles could have taken all three points from Liverpool who were crowned Premier League champions after the final whistle.
There is plenty to take into next season, and it says an awful lot that Oliver Glasner was not happy with the final performance of the season, those are the standards the Austrian sets.

“We tried to defend for our lives pretty much and we tried to take our chances. Even though they had a red card, it still felt like they were a man up. But regardless, the boys did what they had to do. I think we left a little bit out there, but at the end of the day it was a draw against the champions. It could have been better for us, but we take that into the end of the season.”
