The busy run in to the end of the season continues with yet another midweek game for the Eagles, but this time it is just a short trip to North London to take on Arsenal.
MATCH INFORMATION

PREVIOUS MEETING
18/12/2024 – A League Cup quarter final last December did not go the way of the Eagles even after a fantastic start with Jean-Philippe Mateta opening the scoring very early on. What followed was the Gabriel Jesus show who managed a second half hattrick to end the visitors hopes of progressing in the competition even though a late goal from former Gunner Eddie Nketiah provided a brief glimmer. |

FORMER CLUBS – Amigo, Osasuna, Borussia Dortmund, Newcastle United, Real Sociedad |
The 28 year old midfielder has been a key addition to the Gunners squad and has already contributed 6 goals in just 25 appearances for the club so far this season. |
THE NUMBERS
Arsenal have won their last 5 Premier League games against Palace, netting exactly 5 goals in both of the last 2.
Having been unbeaten in 4 Premier League away games against Arsenal between 2019 and 2021 (W1 D3), Palace have lost their 2 league visits to the Emirates by an aggregate score of 9-1.
Arsenal have lost just 3 of their last 36 home Premier League matches (W26 D7), though 2 of those 3 have been in London derbies, both defeats to West Ham in December 2023 (0-2) and February this season (0-1).
Palace have won 3 Premier League London derbies this season, last winning more in a single top-flight campaign in 1990-91 (5).
Arsenal are unbeaten in their last 42 home Premier League games when they’ve scored first (W36 D6), since losing 2-1 to Man City on New Year’s Day 2022. The Gunners have failed to win 4 times when scoring first at the Emirates this season (W8 D4), however, their most in a season since 2019-20 (5).
Palace have won their last 2 away Premier League London derbies, beating West Ham and Fulham 2-0 each time. That’s more wins than in their previous 22 away London derbies combined (W1 D11 L10). They last won 3 in a row between April 1995 and November 1997.
Under Mikel Arteta, Arsenal’s worst month for Premier League points per game at the Emirates is in April (18 in 12 games, 1.5 points per game), losing more games in that month (4) than any other.
Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli has scored 5 goals in his last 5 Premier League games against Palace, while his 6 goals against the Eagles overall is his most against any opponent.
Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has had a hand in 7 goals in his last 8 appearances at the Emirates (4 goals, 3 assists). In all competitions, only Bukayo Saka (15) and Kai Havertz (14) have more goals and assists combined than Rice on home soil for the Gunners this season (11 – 5 goals, 6 assists).
Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta has been involved in 5 goals in his last 7 Premier League London derbies (4 goals, 1 assist), scoring in 3 this season against Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and West Ham. Only 3 Eagles players have scored in 4 games in one season – Andrew Johnson in 2004-05 (6), Jordan Ayew in 2019-20 (4) and Christian Benteke in 2020-21 (4).
KEY CLASH
DANIEL MUNOZ v GABRIEL MARTINELLI |
With a more important fixture up and coming for both teams, it is difficult to call who will start this game. However, this match, should it happen, will be very interesting indeed as the Colombian wing back has had a fine season for the Eagles, while Martinelli is on a good run of form since working his way back into the starting line up. |

TEB PREDICTION
Everyone concerned will probably all agree that there is very little interest in this fixture ahead of the following game being exceptionally important for both sides. For that reason, it is difficult to consider the starting line up for each side which we expect to be a mixture of fringe players and first teamers. A boring scoreless draw with very little contact or exertion would be wonderful, so that is what we are going for (although it will most likely be an Arsenal victory!)
PREDICTED SCORE: 0-0 |
