TEB VERDICT
The game signalled the end of the Roy Hodgson era before we embark on what hope will be a fun ride under Austrian Oliver Glasner.
This was a battling performance for Roy Hodgson after his health concerns other the last few days, and he would have been proud of the players under the guidance of Ray Lewington and Paddy McCarthy up at Goodison Park.
Good individual showings from Adam Wharton, Daniel Munoz and Jordan Ayew but this was a collective performance which included a brilliant goal from Ayew who was ably supported by Jean-Philippe Mateta.
It was hugely important that we did not allow the hosts a victory to give them any impetus in up and coming games, and so it ended with the gap between the two teams as it was ahead of kick off, five points. Job done.
Now we wait with bated breath what Glasner can do with this group of players, but a big thank you and respect to Roy Hodgson for what he has done for the club, one that he will always be a part of.
