Again, after a lot of speculation in the past few weeks Shola Ameobi has signed for Palace in a short term deal until the end of the season. He was a free agent after leaving Turkish club Gaziantep in December.
The Nigerian striker began his career as a youth product at Newcastle United and went on to make over 300 appearances and scored over 50 goals for the Toon Army before a move to Turkey last summer. He had a short spell on loan at Stoke City in 2008.
The 33 year old was born in Zaria, Nigeria but first appeared internationally for England at youth level. He made his full international debut for the country of his birth in 2012.
We welcome Shola to Crystal Palace and look forward to seeing him in the famous red and blue.
