Perhaps a fourth victory over the Reds in the same season, which would have been a record, was a little too much to ask but the hosts did not have it all their own way.

POST GAME QUOTES
OLIVER GLASNER
“The difference was the efficiency. Liverpool were clinical, we were not. The goalkeeper had the day of his life so congrats to him. We kept believing until the end. It was positive and this is what we take into the final weeks.
It was our best performance here against Liverpool. We were very competitive. I showed them the statistics – 2-0 down at half-time, you could say we rest our power for the Conference League semi-final and maybe take the loss. This performance will give us a lot of confidence for the rest of the season.”

TEB VERDICT
Two quick goals from the hosts before the break looked to hand them control, but the Eagles put in a decent showing at Anfield and the controversial goal from Munoz gave the home crowd a few worries late on before a killer third ended the contest.
Despite the 3-1 loss, Palace managed more shots and registered more attempts on target as they threw everything at Liverpool but found former goalkeeper Freddie Woodman in fine form.
The goal from Munoz gave Palace hope and ended up angering the whole Liverpool fanbase who targeted the Colombian for the remainder of the game – no mention, however, of the awful dive in the first half by the departing Salah.
Glasner expressed his pleasure at the performance and while it did not secure any points, it is one that plenty of positives can be taken from heading into a huge week for the Eagles.
Palace can now fully focus on the trip to Poland on Thursday for the first leg of the Conference League semi-finals.
Worthy individual mentions to Adam Wharton on his return to the side, Daniel Munoz, and Brennan Johnson who arguably put in one of his better performances in a Palace shirt.
