POST GAME QUOTES

OLIVER GLASNER

“We didn’t have easy weeks and therefore now having two back-to-back wins at Selhurst Park. The games where everyone is expecting a win are often the most difficult. Playing Wolves at home, everyone was expecting a win and we did it in the final minutes, and today the same. Today was a very clinical win. We took our lessons from the first game and then waited for our moments, and then at the end decided the game.

We are now in a good position in the Premier League and the last 16 of the Conference League – playing European football for the first time. I think now we can work on our consistency, integrating new players and having good impact. I think we are on track.”

DEAN HENDERSON

“The lads did the job, they were fantastic, and I knew we’d get a good reaction. It’s three clean sheets in six games and we’ve got to get back to that. That’s what has made us successful over the past couple of seasons, being solid in defence and ruthless in attack. That’s the motto. We’ve just got to try and build that momentum but we are hungry for more.”

TEB VERDICT

The Eagles made it two back-to-back wins at Selhurst Park both with clean sheets at that which has helped the mood improve after what has been a quite bizarre few weeks.

Oliver Glasner will be very relieved that his side managed to see off the visitors from Bosnia who made Palace work hard for the victory which did end in relative comfort.

Sometimes it does not matter how to get somewhere, it is more important actually getting there and after a difficult few weeks, we can look forward to seeing the Eagles in the round of 16.

They did make hard work of the victory with the second goal coming in injury time to eventually kill off the time against yet another side that played extremely defensively which has been the nemesis for Palace for much of this season.

This is a victory for Glasner in that respect, but you have to think that the deeper you go into the competition, Palace will face better sides who will come at them and allow them to play their natural game.

While that remains to be seen, it is very clear that Palace have stuttered to this point in the Conference League with plenty of room for improvement and that will have to come against better opposition. But we celebrate progression ahead of big games against United and Spurs in a busy seven days.
