The group stage of the World Cup concludes and with that the third round of the Predictions League.
All 16 games of the round had at least one correct predictor so none of them fooled us all. Only Art Of Football predicted the draw between Ecuador and France. It was a full house for the Brazil win over Cameroon and the Argentina win over Nigeria.
Performance of the week was shared between Art Of Football and Palace Radio with 12 correct predictions out of the 16 games available. The highest score from the opening three rounds.
Stretching their lead at the top of the table after 48 games is Palace Memes with 30 correct predictions (62.50%). A strong week for both Art Of Football and Palace Radio see them join EPL Roundtable in 2nd place on 27 (56.25%). Just staying in touch is Holmesdale Radio in 5th with 26 (54.17%).
Palace Faithful 8-8 Oppo Fans
For this round we had Palace fan Peter Redman and Manchester City fan Coach Otto representing the Palace Faithful and Oppo Fans respectively.
After the first two groups had played their final games it was a 3-2 lead for Peter but that all changed at the half way stage and the culmination of groups C and D saw Coach Otto take a 4-3 lead. It was all level after groups had played and it all went down to the Algeria v Russia game with both predicting different outcomes – Peter went for a Russia win while Coach Otto elected an Algeria win. The draw between the two side meant that there was the very same result in this match up.
So after three rounds it is all square with one win each and one draw. We thank Peter and Coach Otto for taking part in the third round.
