That is two games unbeaten for the Eagles but oddly they have both been poor performances, and they were fortunate to return from the King Power with a point and a clean sheet.

TEB VERDICT
Not an awful lot can be said about this performance with several disappointing showings across the pitch and can be thankful for the much criticised Vicente Guaita who pulled off a string of saves to preserve the clean sheet. The only other two worthy of a mention were Eberechi Eze and Odsonne Edouard who both tried to work an opening throughout the game but the Eagles were up against it for much of the afternoon.
Leicester are a decent side and are clearly in a false position but that does not excuse such a performance. Having said that, Palace secured a point and a clean sheet away from home which is not all bad from the face of it, but the big issue is the centre of midfield.
We have the classy Cheick Doucoure but he cannot do it all alone and Patrick Vieira is clearly struggling to find a suitable partner for him. It is clear that Jeffrey Schlupp and Luka Milivojevic are not the answer. Maybe James McArthur is but he cannot be relied upon with his recent injury record. Cheikhou Kouyate would no doubt have been that man, but he is long gone. The fact is, that we must get through the next few games until the break for the World Cup with a need in the transfer window to recruit for that position.
BOB’S POINT OF VIEW
Bob White was a coach at Palace under the tenure of Steve Coppell and Alan Smith and will be sharing his point of view each week in our review article.
“This was a game short on quality with neither team deserving all three points. Even when our approach play showed any potential, our final ball in the attacking third lacked the incisiveness and accuracy to seriously threaten their keeper.
Vieira tried to shuffle the pack through his substitutions attempting to inject some energy into our performance but to no avail. When the final whistle sounded, you could sense the frustration of both managers, but on balance Vieira will be happier with a point gained away from home.
Ultimately a flat performance and hopefully we will see greater intensity, purpose and quality on Tuesday against Wolves. No player stood out but I thought Guaita looked more solid whilst dealing effectively with any crosses delivered into danger areas.”
POST GAME QUOTES
PATRICK VIEIRA – “It was a frustrating game. We didn’t play as well as we wanted. We had situations to create more in the first half but were not aggressive enough going forward and lacked quality. In the second half, it was all about Leicester. We didn’t create anything – nothing – but on the other side we defended well and didn’t concede a goal. Of course, there is frustration, but we take a point.”
BRENDAN RODGERS – “The performance was good. We limited a very good team who have a lot of players with individual quality to one chance. Apart from that we pressed the game really well, particularly in the second half. We got into some really good areas but maybe failed to make that final pass which gets you the goal. It was a good performance from the players, they deserved to win the game, and it’s a clean sheet for us against a good team.”
