TEB VERDICT
Not many gave Palace much of a hope in this one as the media focussed on the title race rather than the game itself, but the hosts deserve immense credit for thwarting City throughout even if they did need a little luck along the way.
Patrick Vieira set up his team perfectly and every man out there in a Palace shirt knew their place in the team and what to do. There were a number of tired legs out there as the minutes ticked away due to the huge effort that was put in but a point was thoroughly deserved to ensure four points from the two league games for the Eagles in which City failed to score in either.
Now all eyes can look ahead to the FA Cup quarter final against Everton and with Palace in form, there is every chance of a trip to Wembley this season, maybe two….

POST GAME QUOTES
PATRICK VIEIRA – “It was tense from the first minute but I think the players managed the difficult situations very well. It was a team effort and our performance was really good. When you play against the quality of players they have, you need a bit of luck at times and at times we were lucky but you also need to perform as well. We want to make the end of the season exciting. We’re still in the FA Cup and it will be a massive game against Everton and if we win that it will be really exciting.”
PEP GUARDIOLA – “I think Palace played good. There are still many games to play, we have to win a lot of games but the way we played, there’s no regrets about the team. We would have preferred to win of course but the game was well played. We played to win the game, we created more, the way we played was amazing in a difficult stadium with the grass not perfect.”
