Pardew Steps Down From The Palace

This afternoon, the club released a statement from Alan Pardew confirming that he has stepped down as manager of the club with immediate effect

Published on the official club website shortly before 3pm, Pardew says;

‘I would like to take the opportunity to thank everybody at the club for their fantastic support. A big thanks to the players who gave me everything and Steve Parish and his board. I have a lot of good feelings for this football club and am sad that my time there has ended. I have a special bond with the club and hope that hasn’t been affected. I wish everybody associated with the club the best of luck in the future including of course the fans who have been magnificent.

Now attention turns to the recruitment of a new manager as Palace take on Watford and Arsenal away next week. Many names have already been mentioned with Roberto Mancini popular among fans while Sam Allardyce looks to be the bookies favourite.
