McCarthy And Gray Move On To Pastures New

The club have this week confirmed two players have departed to seek a change in fortunes.

Alex McCarthy has switched Premier League sides and joins Southampton for an undisclosed fee after just one season at Selhurst Park and signs a three year deal with the South Coast club. The former Queens Park Rangers player made seven appearances last season after making his debut against Norwich City.

With the arrival of Frenchman Steve Mandanda it was clear that one of the four goalkeepers in the Palace ranks would be on their way and the unfortunate man is Guildford born McCarthy.

Meanwhile, academy product Jake Gray has joined Luton Town on a free transfer. The midfielder has signed a two year deal with the League Two club.

He played just twice for Palace with both appearances coming in the League Cup after working his way through the academy since joining as a fifteen year old. The twenty year old has spent time on loan at Cheltenham Town and Hartlepool United.

We wish both Alex and Jake all the best for the future.
