Pre-Season Round Up And New Signing For Palace Ladies

Time for us to look back at the latest news from in and around the club over the last seven days.

Pre-Season

The club kicked off their three game tour of North America with a goalless draw against MLS side Philadelphia Union. The starting line up was one that we are not used to seeing with the likes of Sullay KaiKai, Hiram Boateng and even Zeki Fryers starting the match alongside Andros Townsend who made his Eagles debut. With plenty of changes throughout the game, most notable was the introduction of James Tomkins for his bow in the red and blue.

A trip to Cincinnati was next up for the squad and Palace were very well received in a city that has an up and coming football franchise. In their first year of existence, FC Cincinnati have been making waves in the US with record crowds. This was no different as the local fans took to the fixture in their numbers making it a complete sell out. The crowd were rewarded with a decent game which Palace ran our 2-0 winners courtesy of an excellent striker from distance from Jordan Mutch and sealing the first win of the tour with a goal from the impressive Wilfried Zaha.

The squad now head to across the border to Canada for a their final match of the three game tour against Vancouver Whitecaps on Tuesday which will be a 3am kick off UK time.

Meanwhile, back home a club eleven took on Beckenham Town which ended in a six goal thriller courtesy of goals from a trialist and a double by Jason Lokilo .

Former Eagles On The Move

Former Palace goalkeeper Lewis Price has moved to Rotherham United after his contract ended at Sheffield Wednesday. Meanwhile, Hayden Mullins has signed for Premier League club Watford as under 21 assistant manager.

New Signing

The Palace Ladies have been busy once again this summer as they announced the signing of Ellie Bailes. The former Charlton Athletic player joins the club after a spell in the USA and is looking forward to the season ahead with the Eagles. Welcome Ellie!
