Here is our latest look at Palace in the news over the last seven days.
North America Tour
The squad have made the journey over to the East coast of America to prepare for their three match tour. The first game is on Wednesday against MLS side Philadelphia Union before travelling to take on FC Cincinnati on Saturday. The opening game of the tour will be a tough proposition for the Eagles as the Union are well into their season and currently sit in second place in the Eastern Conference just a point behind New York City.
Later this week we will have an article previewing the game against Cincinnati with a local fans view.
Ladies Fixtures Out
The Palace Ladies will begin their FA Women’s Premier League debut at home to Coventry United on 21st August followed by a trip to Queens Park Rangers a week later. The final game of the season will be at home to Cardiff City on 14th May 2017. Also in the division are Tottenham Hotspur, Charlton Athletic, West Ham United, Swindon Town, Lewes and C&K Basildon.
You can find the full fixture list on the official FA Website.
Disappointment For Euro Eagles
The European Championships ended in disappointment for the five Palace representatives taking part in the latter stages of the tournament. Wayne Hennessey, Joe Ledley and Jonny Williams could do little to prevent a Cristiano Ronaldo inspired Portugal side defeating them to reach the final. Meanwhile, Yohan Cabaye made a fleeting appearance at the end of the semi final win for France over World Champions Germany but neither he or new signing Steve Mandanda made it onto the pitch in their final defeat against the Portuguese.
Kettings Joins Oldham
Twenty-three year old goalkeeper Chris Kettings has joined League One side Oldham Athletic on a one year deal. He joined the club in 2014 and was one of fifteen professionals released by the club at the end of the season. TEB wishes Chris well for the future.
Tickets For Opening Game
The Eagles host West Bromwich Albion on the opening day of the Premier League season and tickets are now on sale for the game. It will be a return to Selhurst Park for former manager Tony Pulis whose Baggies side finished just a point ahead of Palace last season. Tickets can be purchased from the official Palace website.
