Marouane Chamakh Signs

Twenty-nine year old Moroccan striker Marouane Chamakh, has signed for Crystal Palace on a free transfer from Arsenal.

Seen as surplus to Arsène Wenger,  the former Bordeaux striker is looking forward to playing for the Eagles.

He is Ian Holloway’s 7th signing so far during this window,  joining the likes of Spanish under-20 midfielder José Campana, former Brighton midfielder Stephen Dobbie, striker Kevin Phillips and wingers Dwight Gayle, Elliot Grandin and Jerome Thomas. Holloway had this to say:

Maroune Chamakh has signed. Longer than a one year deal.

I’ve got to find a way to suit this group. Second half we should have scored.

It’s about MC getting going again. Hopefully I can get him back to when he first went to Arsenal.

He was also in attendance at Selhurst Park today to watch his new team mates battle against Italian side Lazio, to which Palace slumped to a 1-0 loss thanks to a Miroslav Klose goal.
