Bosnia Calling For Eagles In Pivotal Stage Of Season

After a wait it is a return to European action as the Eagles kick off a two legged play off match up with a trip to Bosnia.

The Eagles have had none of this capital city rubbish on their European journey so far this season. The European tour has taken in the delights of Lublin, Strasbourg, and Sherbourne, with hopefully more to come.

It is a fixture that comes at an important part of the season, with Palace becoming embroiled in the action at the wrong end of the table after a horrid drop off in form.

There is still no guarantee that the will not get sucked into trouble, but they must be looking to keep the season alive with hopes of progressing in Europe with a favourable draw against the Bosnian outfit.

Of course, no game is easy and we have seen the Eagles struggle against so called lesser opposition – just look at Fredrickstad (a) and Larnaca (h) during this run.

Oliver Glasner has enjoyed having his group of players together for an extended period, even if the last outing at home to Burnley last Wednesday was not the outcome anyone wanted or even expected. That just goes to show how a game of football can play out, and Palace need to be very mindful of that heading into this two legged affair which which sandwiches a home game in the Premier League against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

There will certainly be no excuses with what is close to a fully fit squad available for this trip and an opportunity to make up for that terrible defeat at home to Burnley where they threw away a two goal lead in a matter of minutes.

The Austrian will not allow anyone to dwell on that defeat with an opportunity to take on Zrinjski Mostar, a team who suffered a 6-0 defeat to Dynamo Kiev in the league phase.

The hosts have enjoyed good domestic form in recent weeks but head into this fixture off the back of a 3-0 defeat away to Borac, and sit four points behind them in second in the league table.

We are all hoping for more European away days to add to the beautiful Bosnian location, and it is down to Glasner and the players to make sure we do.
