A depleted Palace side travelled to Nottingham to take on Forest and will disappointed not to have found a way to take all three points from hosts who played the second half with ten men.

POST GAME QUOTES
OLIVER GLASNER
“Mixed feelings. We were down after the first long throw-in they had but the reaction was great. We did well but then we didn’t create good chances. You could see the nerves. We wanted to stretch them and be patient. I’m really pleased with the first half, it was a great performance.”
DEAN HENDERSON
“The sending off gives you great momentum but it was disappointing that we couldn’t find a way through. We had it a couple of times last season when the opposition sit and it is attack versus defence. Sit in and don’t give away, they did that well. I thought the lads did well. They pushed to the last and it’s important we have the lads in the dressing room that keep showing up for the badge.”

TEB VERDICT
While this was not the defeat that many had predicted, the draw did edge the Eagles nine points clear of the bottom three, it was the manner of the performance that summed up where the club are right now.
With Jean-Philippe Mateta not included in the squad ahead an expected departure on Transfer Deadline Day, there was very little attacking threat from the visitors who lacked the physical presence to make the most of the number advantage in the second half.
Not managing a shot on target following Ismaila Sarr’s penalty was criminal especially with the hosts having to make a goalkeeper change at the break. However, there is light at the end of the tunnel as while Palace made it 12 games without a win, this was a side with several missing personnel who will soon be back in contention – Adam Wharton, Daichi Kamada, Eddie Nketiah, Justin Devenny, new signing Evann Guessard, and an expected Mateta replacement.
The City Ground has rarely been a happy hunting ground for the Eagles so with all things considered, it is a decent point but could have been better particularly with the man advantage.
One real positive was the return of Chadi Riad. The Moroccan joined the club in 2024 but has a horrific time with injuries but the former Barcelona defender was very well thought of by Real Betis after his loan stint there during the 2023/24 season.
