On a cold South London midweek night, there was not much for either set of fans to celebrate to keep warm but both will likely be happy to go home with a point in the bag.

POST GAME QUOTES
OLIVER GLASNER
“Credit to the players for their performance, commitment and all the circumstances, playing the most in-form team in the league and showing a game like this. I am very proud of every single player.
We could see first half we are not full of confidence right now, but we worked into the game and second half we created some good moments.
At the end we have to defend a few situations, the game could have gone either way, so a draw is fair result.”
MARC GUEHI
“We know we’re in a tough moment and Villa are performing well, I’m proud of the team. It’s a vital point. It’s really important. The league is so tough this year. Any point is so valuable. If you get a win, it can push you five or six places up the table, so a point is good and hopefully now we can build on it.”

TEB VERDICT
You must give this group of players credit, they keep working hard and this was a point that round out even though the tiredness kicked in the longer the game went on.
The opposition came to South London looking to add to their title challenge but went away disappointed as a stubborn Palace held on for a clean sheet and a deserved point.
Special mentions go to Dean Henderson, Jaydee Canvot and Maxence Lacroix who all shone as did Adam Wharton in the middle of the park, but the result could have gone either way with several chances for each side.
The game signals the end of a very hectic run of fixtures with the defence of the FA Cup kicking off this weekend followed by a whole week before another game which will no doubt do wonders for the squad.
Hopefully this now gives everyone the time to work on potential new signings, contract discussions for the Oliver Glasner and an opportunity for the injured players to work their way back to fitness.
