POST GAME QUOTES
OLIVER GLASNER
“A draw is a fair result when I see all of the circumstances. It was similar to how it was at Fulham a few weeks ago – then we had the lucky punch at the end at a corner, today a draw is okay. It’s not a confidence thing, we just concede when the legs are fatigued, the head and mind is fatigued. There is no other opportunity, I know everyone will give his best. Three more games and then we can rest a little bit. Then a one, two, three players will come back, hopefully we will get some new additions to the squad. Now is not to show brilliant football, but to go game-by-game and go point-by-point.”

TEB VERDICT
It is clear for all to see that the exertions a packed fixture list has forced continues to play a part as for all the good work the hosts put into this game, they struggled to hold on for a point the longer the game went on.
From kick off it began as a very scrappy affair until things started to heat up as Palace took advantage of the visitors losing their heads and got themselves ahead with an excellent goal from Jean-Philippe Mateta, after good work from Nathaniel Clyne.
Palace should really have gone on to add a second before the break as they really were in the ascendancy but ended up paying the price late in the second half.
It was a battling performance from the hosts who are missing four first team regulars, and now Eddie Nketiah is out for another spell on the sidelines with a recurrence of a hamstring injury.
The goal really did show what a little confidence can do, but without an all-important second, the result remained in the balance as the hosts ultimately succumbed.
The sooner Oliver Glasner starts to see the return of those missing players one by one, the sooner we can look forward to some better results. The expected signing of Brennan Johnson will be a boost who’s expected to be in the squad to face Newcastle on Sunday.
Special mention to man of the match, Nathaniel Clyne. He is certainly no Daniel Munoz but he will not let the club down and his performance in this game further supported that.
