The Eagles head into the international break with another point on the board as a scrappy affair saw the points shared in what was the fairest result on the balance of play.

POST GAME QUOTES
OLIVER GLASNER
“It was a huge effort from both teams and it was more neutralising each other. We defended very well and credit to Brighton, they defended very well. They controlled our strengths and we controlled theirs. Then it was who gets the lucky punch.
For me, Tyrick is man of the match. It felt like he had 30 duels and won most of them.
We wanted to win the game even when we could see legs were getting a bit tired. I’m not the manager who makes a lot of subs when people are doing well. We have to find the balance. I trust this group of players that they will show up if we need them.”
TYRICK MITCHELL
“Both teams wanted a win. When you want to win, that’s what comes out sometimes – the competitiveness. I think we have an understanding as a team from training sessions, and from all the matches we’ve played. We’ve played a lot of games this season. We train hard. The manager implements his style on us very well in training, so every single player, whether you start or don’t start, we know what we need to do when we’re on the pitch.”

BOB’S POINT OF VIEW
Bob White was a coach at Palace under the tenure of Steve Coppell and Alan Smith and will be sharing his point of view each week in our review article.
TEB VERDICT
In an afternoon where it was a struggle to understand the decisions that the referee was making, this was a match between two teams who ultimately cancelled each other out.
A third game in a week started to show but that did not prevent the hosts from creating chances, it was finishing them being the problem with more than once players getting the ball stuck under their feet at the critical stage.
With the news that Marc Guehi would not make the match due to a foot injury and unlikely to go on international duty for England next week, Jaydee Canvot stepped in and put in a fantastic performance, as did Tyrick Mitchell.
It was a day for the two defences which won out in the end with both managing to keep a clean sheet, and it is likely that the two teams will be pleased with the share of the points.
After three homes games this past week, it is clear that Palace are not having a problem creating chances, it is being clinical that is troubling them at the moment, but sitting in tenth place in the Premier League after eleven games now played is a solid return with so many games having been played.
