That was quite a season for the Eagles which even the most positive of Crystal Palace fans would have predicted. The fact that we are proud holders of the historic FA Cup still seems like a dream, but has proved that Oliver Glasner really is a magician.
It is time for us to take a break for the summer and with that, we sign off for the season with our awards.
Over the past week votes have been cast on our polls posted over on X. All votes have been counted and verified, and we are pleased to reveal the victors for each of our ten categories for the 2024/25 season.
A big thank you to everyone who voted and interacted with the team here at TEB HQ, not just for these awards, but throughout a quite incredible season.

AWAY DAY OF THE SEASON
- Manchester United 4%
- Brighton 50%
- Fulham (Cup) 40%
- Spurs 5%
There have been several memorable performances away from home this season but that result over our old foe on their own patch edges the FA Cup result at Fulham.
MOST IMPROVED PLAYER OF THE SEASON
- Tyrick Mitchell 12%
- Dean Henderson 18%
- Chris Richards 55%
- Will Hughes 16%
When Chelsea recalled Trevoh Chalobah unexpectedly after being part of a solid trio a the back for Palace, many of us thought that would be disruptive. In steps USA international Chris Richards, who has arguably done an even better job than the loanee did in his short stint, and it is him that takes the award rather convincingly.
WORST MOMENT OF THE SEASON
- Eze disallowed goal 38%
- Defeat at Newcastle 26%
- Home defeat to Arsenal 4%
- Mateta injury 32%
We roll all the way back to that first game of the season at Brentford for this award when a brilliant goal from Ebere Eze was ruled out by inept refereeing which ended up playing a part in what was a very slow start for the Eagles. The horrific injury to Jean-Philippe Mateta was a close second.
UNSUNG HERO OF THE SEASON
- Will Hughes 27%
- Chris Richards 35%
- Daichi Kamada 11%
- Tyrick Mitchell 28%
Close run poll for this award with three players in real contention but it is Chris Richards that scoops his second award of the season, edging our Tyrick Mitchell and Will Hughes.
OPPOSITION FANS OF THE SEASON
- Nottingham Forest 44%
- Stockport County 44%
- Newcastle United 8%
- Ipswich Town 5%
There were only ever two sets of fans competing for this award and it ended up being a dead heat, so congratulations to the Forest fans and the Stockport fans for doing their bit for their respective teams at Selhurst Park this season.
BEST MOMENT OF THE SEASON
- Winning the FA Cup 99%
- Record PL points 0%
- Double over Brighton 1%
- South London trophy parade 0%
No competition this season, right? Although we would like to know who voted for the double over our rivals which would have taken the award in any other season.
SIGNING OF THE SEASON
- Ismaila Sarr 62%
- Maxence Lacroix 38%
- Daichi Kamada 0%
- Eddie Nketiah 0%
It is perhaps harsh on Daichi Kamada to not receive any votes for this award who had a very good final third of the season after a very dodgy start. In the end, Maxence Lacroix was no match for Ismaila Sarr who has become a fan favourite at the club in his first season.
GAME OF THE SEASON
- FA Cup Final 73%
- FA Cup Semi Final 23%
- Brighton away 3%
- Brighton home 1%
A clear winner but not as clear as we expected but that perhaps shows just how good that semi final victory over Aston Villa was, but it had to be the FA Cup Final.
GOAL OF THE SEASON
- Eze (FA Cup Final) 30%
- Mateta at Arsenal 53%
- Eze (FA Cup Semi Final) 17%
- Eze at Arsenal 0%
The sublime goal at the Emirates from our French corner flag kicker who came on as a substitute takes this award, ahead of Eze’s Cup Final strike.
PLAYER OF THE SEASON
- Jean-Philippe Mateta 8%
- Ebere Eze 9%
- Dean Henderson 17%
- Daniel Munoz 66%
The Colombian full back never fails to get up and down whatever pitch he walks out onto in a Palace shirt, and rightly takes this award for his contributions throughout the season.
TEB SPECIAL CONTRIBUTION AWARD
This award last appeared at the end of the 2021/22 season, which marked the end of TEB’s 10th season, but we just had to bring it back for two special reasons.
This season, we have joint winners, to who we all owe our appreciation to;
Joel Ward. A player has been the epitome of what this football club is all about and there was not a dry eye in house when he left the pitch for the final time in a Palace shirt in the game against Wolves.
Ward actually signed for Palace from Portsmouth for £400,000 in May 2012, just a couple of weeks before TEB started up, so to say that he has been the one constant throughout our time goes without saying.
Holmesdale Fanatics. Their hard work, planning, and dedication for both the FA Cup Semi Final against Villa, and the FA Cup Final against City was nothing less that fantastic. So much thought and planning went into each of the Tifos which the fan base got completely behind and helped create a very special atmosphere for both games. Wembley did indeed shake, and it really was beautiful.
