ONE TO WATCH

JOAO PEDRO
FORMER CLUBS – Fluminense, Watford
The Brazilian striker is a dangerous character in more ways that one as his eye for goal is what you would expect but his all round game play suits the Brighton style of play.

THE NUMBERS

Following their 3-1 win at the Amex Stadium in December, Palace are looking to complete their first league double over Brighton since 1932-33 (Third Division South), and for the first time ever in the top-flight.

Each of Brighton’s last 5 Premier League away games against Palace have been drawn – the last exact top-flight fixture to finish level in more consecutive meetings was Charlton at home to Coventry between 1986 and 2000 (six).

Each of the last 5 Premier League meetings between Palace and Brighton at Selhurst Park has finished 1-1. No specific fixture in English top-flight history has finished by the exact same score line in 6 consecutive meetings before.

Palace have won their last 2 home Premier League matches, while under Oliver Glasner, they’ve won 41% of home games (P22 W9) and average 1.50 points-per-game. Only Tony Pulis can better both of those totals as Eagles boss (3+ games) in the competition (54% win rate, 1.77 points-per-game).

Brighton’s only away Premier League defeat in their last 8 on the road (W3 D4) was in their 7-0 hammering at Forest. They are averaging 1.53 points-per-game away from home this season (23 points in 15 games), never bettering that in a top-flight season (also 1.53 in 2021-22).

Palace have won each of their last 3 Premier League matches kicking off at 3pm on Saturday, keeping a clean sheet in wins over West Ham (2-0), Fulham (2-0) and Ipswich (1-0). The Eagles had only won 3 of their previous 19 games kicking off at this time (D9 L7).

Brighton are winless in their last 11 Premier League games in London (D5 L6) since a 3-0 win over Arsenal back in May 2023. It’s their worst winless league run in the capital since a run between 1933 and 1936, when they lost 15 out of 16 games (D1).

In all competitions, Brighton have won 5 of 7 away games in 2025 (D1 L1), only one fewer than they won in the entirety of 2024 (W6 D8 L10). They’re also already halfway to their away goal tally for 2024 (34) in 2025 so far (17).

Ismaïla Sarr has scored 3 goals in his last 2 home Premier League appearances for Palace, more than in his first 13 at Selhurst Park for the club (1). Sarr scored 2 and assisted the other of their 3 goals in a 3-2 win over Brighton in December, and the only Palace player to score more goals in the competition against the Seagulls than his 2 is Wilfried Zaha (5).

Brighton’s Carlos Baleba has scored 2 Premier League goals in London this season, netting against Chelsea and Fulham. The only Seagulls players to net 3 goals in the capital in a season are Glenn Murray (3 in 2017-18, 4 in 2018-19) and Leandro Trossard (3 in 2021-22).

KEY CLASH

MAXENCE LACROIX v JOAO PEDRO
This will be a test in the heat of battle at Selhurst as the Brazilian striker is one that will try every trick in the book and get under the skin, but the form of Lacroix this season has made us forget about Joachim Andersen which says a lot about his calibre.

TEB PREDICTION

It is hard to tell how this one will go as the visitors have struggled in recent games while Palace had difficulties against the bottom team in midweek after their FA Cup exertions. However, as we know, this fixture is always one of the more difficult to predict just like any rivalry. Both teams will likely be happy with a point, but the Eagles will be keen to do the double of their rivals this season after their excellent victory on the South Coast earlier in the season.

PREDICTED SCORE: 1-1
