The dour weather matched the action on the pitch as the Eagles struggled to get into any kind of gear against the Bees at Selhurst making it one to forget and move on.

TEB VERDICT
While this is a result to forget after a good run of form, in truth, the result could have gone either way in a game of fine margins.
In parts, the hosts really struggled to get anything going and appeared more passive that in recent weeks. The lasting image of Oliver Glasner leaning against the side of dugout in the pouring rain probably said all you need to know.
Perhaps he got this one wrong, but there have been a lot of finger pointing at individuals after this performance. Nobody is beyond criticism but the current position is far healthier and hopefully this is just a blip.
The one shining light from the defeat was Romain Esse scoring with his first touch off the bench on his debut for the club, which gave Palace a glimmer of hope in the latter stages.
POST GAME QUOTES
OLIVER GLASNER
“It was a game both teams neutralised each other and there weren’t many chances. First mistake and we lost the game. The penalty happened, we head the ball four times and we gave it away. we can’t clear the ball and it’s a penalty. Mbeumo got a second chance and this decided the game.
We were very efficient today, we tried everything but never really had pressure. I can’t explain. it doesn’t feel like it was a great game from both sides. We were always trying, we proved it quite often this season. Coming back three of four minutes after 2-0, we knew there would be a lot of added time. We had some good situations and we couldn’t score from it.”
THOMAS FRANK
“Tough game against a very good Palace team. I knew it would be very difficult. The second half started that way, very difficult circumstances to play in. I think we edged it. In the end, Palace were on top in important moments. We defended very well. A solid, solid, good away performance.”
