TEB VERDICT

This result leaves a lot of head scratching and more concerning, no wins in six Premier League games.

It is certainly not quite time to be reaching for the panic button, but while Palace are hard to beat, they are certainly find it hard to find a victory. You could argue that luck has not been on their side, but you make your own luck.

Statistically, Palace were in control of this game from start to finish and you have to wonder how they left Goodison Park without any points. However, after conceding the equaliser straight after the break, the Eagles never recovered and were vulnerable to the second goal which duly arrived.

It was said after the United game that it was back to the training ground and while Oliver Glasner suggests the form at the end of last season was never going to continue into this season, he has a lot of work to do to turn things around but there are signs things may click at some point.

We are confident that the Austrian will do so, but the Premier League is unforgiving and a win more than a performance is required to settle some nerves.

POST GAME QUOTES

OLIVER GLASNER

“Big disappointment, especially because I think we lost the game with mistakes.

Over 70-75 minutes we controlled the game but you must be focused all game. It is a big strength of Everton’s in set-plays. They do it well and we defended it most of the time really well. It was always the second phase. It is important to always keep your focus high.

We tried everything, we changed the system, brought on all our offensive players. They defended with ten players around their box so we didn’t have a lot of space so it was difficult. Today we couldn’t score the equaliser. If you concede two goals it’s not so easy to get a point or to win.”

SEAN DYCHE

“I’m delighted for the players, they worked very hard to change a scoreline around. You know there’s been question marks over many things and of course there’s been a bit of relief there for me today and relief for the players and that’s a human thing.

There’s a lot of demand here that we put on ourselves and we have to answer to that and I thought we did today. We certainly did enough to win the game and that’s what was important.”
