TEB VERDICT

This was a tricky cup tie at the home of a side in good form in the Championship but Oliver Glasner stuck to his early season comments and put out a strong side that got the Eagles through to the Fourth Round for the first time since the 2018/19 season.

It was their former player Ebere Eze who starred providing an assist for Eddie Nketiah to grab his first goal for Palace, and then step up himself to score the winner thanks to a deflection.

Besides Eze and Nketiah, there were strong cameos from Daniel Munoz and Daichi Kamada who himself assisted what turned out to be the winning goal. It was also good to see Jefferson Lerma back in the starting line-up.

That is two games into this competition and the reward for putting out a strong line up in both is a wait to find out who Palace will face in the Fourth Round. It is a round that has not been kind having exited at that point all of the three previous times the club has got to that stage.

POST GAME QUOTES

OLIVER GLASNER

“We are very pleased with the win. It was a game that we expected, an aggressive QPR side. We controlled the game for a long time. We didn’t give them anything in the first half. It’s a cup tie, if you don’t decide early enough, they always have the chance to come back.
