A disappointing start to the season but the Eagles head to Stamford Bridge off the back of a very good cup victory in midweek which will hopefully breed confidence.

ONE TO WATCH

NONI MADUEKE
FORMER CLUBS – Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur, PSV
The 22-year-old attacker is in great form after scoring a hat-trick at Wolves last weekend and will hope to be a regular in the starting line up for the Blues this season. After spells in the youth academies at Palace and Spurs it was in the Netherlands where he made the breakthrough making his first team debut in 2019 for PSV.

KEY CLASH

MARC GUEHI v COLE PALMER
The England colleagues go toe to toe in this match having both had a call up for the international weekend which follows immediately after this round of Premier League games. It is a match up worth keeping an eye on.

THE NUMBERS

Chelsea have won their last 13 Premier League games against Palace. They could tie the Football League record of 14 straight victories against the same opponent, currently held by Manchester City versus Bournemouth.

Chelsea have won 24 of the 30 Premier League meetings.

Palace’s 4 wins in this Premier League fixture have all come under a different manager – Tony Pulis, Alan Pardew, Sam Allardyce and Roy Hodgson.

There has not been a draw in any of the last 27 encounters in all competitions.

Palace have opened their Premier League campaign with 2 defeats, having lost only 3 of their 13 league matches under Oliver Glasner last season.

They could lose their opening 3 top-flight games for only the second time. In 2017-18, the Eagles opened with 7 straight defeats but their first league points of that campaign were a 2-1 home win against Chelsea.

Palace have won only 1 of their last 21 Premier League away London derbies, a 2-1 victory at West Ham United in November 2022.

Eberechi Eze had been involved in an unrivalled 16 shots so far this season but is yet to register a goal or assist.

TEB PREDICTION

Heading into the fixture, history is not on the Eagles side as Chelsea have won 14 straight games against Palace. While the streak has to end at some point, you have to think that a point from this game would be a good result and this group of players are good enough to achieve that against a team that are very unpredictable.

PREDICTED SCORE: 1-1
