ONE TO WATCH

MOUSSA DIABY

FORMER CLUBS – Esperance Paris 19eme, Paris Saint-Germain, Crotone (loan), Bayer Leverkusen

The attacking midfielder made headlines last season in the Bundesliga where is made 125 appearances and scored 31 goals after joining from PSG in 2019. He has 10 international caps for France to date and has already hit the back of the net twice in his three appearances for Villa.

KEY CLASH

TYRICK MITCHELL v MOUSSA DIABY

There have been question marks over the Palace left back but he has started the season well both defensively and offensively, with the assist for Edouard in the Wolves game being a particular highlight. He will be up against the tricky French winger which will be a test of his growing reputation.

THE NUMBERS

Villa have lost just 1 of their 11 home league games against Palace (W6 D4), going down 1-0 in December 2013

The Villans are looking to avoid losing successive league games under Unai Emery for only the third time, previously doing so in February and May 2023

Palace have 1 win and 1 draw away from home in the league so far this season. They have not remained unbeaten in their first 3 away league games of a campaign since 2003-04 in the second tier, while they last did so in the top-flight in 1994-95

Odsonne Edouard has scored 3 of Palace’s 5 league goals this season and has now scored 4 in his last 6 games in the competition, as many as in his previous 42 league appearances.

TEB PREDICTION

Kicking off the second phase of Premier League games, the Eagles face a tough proposition in Villa who kick off their Conference League group stage away to Legia in midweek so games will be coming thick and fast for the Villans. Whether they have one eye on that game or not, Palace will need to be on their best form to take something from this game, and we believe they will and continue their unbeaten form away from home.

FINAL SCORE: 1-1
