The Cherries have seemingly been safe for weeks and sit just a couple of places below Palace in the table. How are Bournemouth fans feeling about the season, and their prospects for the future?
To get some answers, I got the inside track from Tom Jordan from the AFCBPodcast.
TEB – So Tom, how are you feeling about the season right now?
TJ – Very upbeat and relieved! It’s been a rollercoaster but to gain our target of getting to safety with games to spare is a huge achievement from everyone at the club.
TEB – Who has been your player of the season so far? How about your overall highlight?
TJ: I think Billing will probably be our player of the season. He’s our joint top scorer from midfield, scoring some really vital goals for us. Notable mention to our keeper and captain Neto. He’s added a real presence and leadership between the sticks. The season highlight has to be the last-minute winner at Tottenham, that felt HUGE.
TEB – What are your priorities for the summer?
TJ – I think we’ll be quite busy in the market with our new owners. We need more quality in most areas, but it’s probably at full back where we are the lightest.
TEB – Which Palace player would you most want in your team/squad?
TJ – Eze without a doubt. The lad oozes class – would love to have him here.
TEB – To the match on Saturday – how are you likely to line up and where is the game going to be won and lost?
TJ – I’d expect us to start in a 4-3-3 system with the flexibility to go to a back 3/5 within that. Solanke will lead the line but pace from out wide with Ouattara could cause you problems. I fear we’ll struggle to deal with Olise and Zaha driving at us mind, that may be the difference.
TEB – What’s your prediction for the game?
TJ – I think it will be a close game and both teams can afford to go for it really. I’ll go for an exciting 2-2 draw, and I’ll definitely take that!
TEB – So will we Tom! Cheers.
