The poor run of form against Spurs on their own turf continues as it feels like an absolute age since the Eagles celebrated a win there in the league, but this was perhaps the best opportunity in some time to change that.

TEB VERDICT
This was not a particularly fun watch but it was two well matched teams cancelling each other out and when you look at the statistics, they prove that point. For the most part, the game was spoilt yet again by a referee that is simply not fit to be an official, and that is not an assumption from this game alone – every time Darren England has officiated a Palace game he has looked completely out of his depth.
Performance wise for the Eagles, this was not the best but they were always in the game but that final ball to the front man was found wanting and rarely troubled from what looked a sturdy home back line.
Hopefully we will see better from the players during the last three games – 2 at home, 1 away – of what has felt a very long season.
POST GAME QUOTES
ROY HODGSON
“I was more than satisfied with the way we played for much of the game and deserved a goal for our efforts. But we conceded just before half-time with a piece of individual brilliance from England’s captain and that was a very unfair reward for the way we had played in the first half. In the second we had a lot of the ball and it was more of a question of Tottenham hanging on at times. But we couldn’t find those crucial moments and in the end we have to accept we lost 1-0 to a moment of brilliance.”
RYAN MASON
“I’m very happy, it was a difficult match. Palace are in a good moment, it’s a London derby so to come away with the three points and a clean sheet after the week we had is a positive. We knew it was going to be difficult and it proved that. We played a good game. I’m happy. The clean sheet is important as we had time to work on it this week so to respond like they did is very pleasing.”
