Tuchel Has Been Signing Of Season For Chelsea

Ahead of the visit of Chelsea this weekend, TEB had a chat with CHELSEA ENTHUSIAST on their season so far, thoughts ahead of the game and much more.

Q. What did you make of the game between the two sides at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season?

Outstanding from our perspective as Chelsea were really dominant in that game and Palace were a disappointment.

Q. How has the season been so far for Chelsea?

Not too bad but not so good either with more upheaval with the managerial position. Having said that, progress in the Champions League could end up being a real positive.

Q. It is early days but how has Thomas Tuchal done since he was brought in to replace Frank Lampard?

He really has brought his tactical genius to the club. Lampard was really not that bad, but Tuchel is different class at this level of the game.

Q. How are you feeling about the Champions League this season – an impressive two legged victory over Atletico sees the Blues into the quarters where they will face Porto?

Tuchel has really made our dream come alive at the least opportune time. Winning the Champions League is a real possibility which his experience but there is plenty of football still to be played, but I am confident of making it through against Porto.

Q. How was your business in the January transfer window and do you have needs that have not been addressed?

Tuchel has been our best signing from the January transfer window! In all seriousness, Chelsea need to buy a lethal striker but perhaps that is the summer target.

Q. Who has been the stand out player for Chelsea so far this season?

So far, Kante or Kovacic are my tips for Chelsea player of the season.

Q. What do you make of Palace this season?

I watched Palace beat West Brom before the enforced break and were not particularly impressive, perhaps lucky to take all three points. A little like Chelsea, they need a clinical to be far more clinical in front of goal which hopefully Jean-Philippe Mateta can provide given time.

Q. Fans not being able to go to games has been huge for what has been almost a year but how does it feel that there is some real light at the end of the tunnel with the potential for a return next season?

It will be great to see fans back in stadiums and bring back some of that home advantage for teams that is clearly missing. It will be a huge boost for the the mentality of players.

Q. Name one player from each team that you believe will be a threat to the opposition in this match.

Ziyech is in good form and I can see him getting on the score sheet against Palace. Meanwhile, we will have to be careful about Benteke who is finding his feet again and will be dangerous.

Q. …and finallly, your all important prediction?

A Chelsea win but it will not be easy after the midweek exertions of the Champions League so will go for a narrow 1-0.
