Bats Is Back As Action In Transfer Window Continues

Fresh off the back of two goals for Belgium in the Nations League this week, Michy Batshuayi has returned to Palace on a season long loan.

The striker had a short stint at Selhurst Park during the 2018-19 season and contributed with six goals in 13 appearances.

The 26-year-old has signed a one year extension to his Chelsea contract but has struggled to hold down a regular first team spot at Stamford Bridge and will have found opportunities limited following the signing of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.

There is an option to buy after the loan stint is over and it has to be said that this was a key position in the team that needed to be addressed, so if all goes well this season there is no reason to suggest anything other than a permanent move being on the cards.

He was certainly a popular figure among the fans during his previous spell at the club which lasted for five months, and if his Twitter profile is anything to go by, he is very pleased to be returning to reunite ‘Sauce FC’.

The former Marseille man will take the number 23 shirt and with the European Championships taking place next summer, there is no doubt that he will be aiming to be leading the line for the number one ranked international side. That can only be a good thing for the Eagles.

Welcome back Michy!
