ONE TO WATCH

JOHN MCGINN

Former clubs – St Mirren, Hibernian

Some players have benefited from the stoppage this season, and McGinn is certainly one as an injury before the pandemic hit looked to end his season. The Scotsman has become a big part of this Villa side and his return to the side when games restarted was a huge boost to their relegation battle. The 25 year old joined Villa from Hibernian in August 2018 and has become a firm favourite with the fans. The Scottish international has already built up over 50 appearances for the Villains, scoring 9 goals to date.

KEY CLASH

CHRISTIAN BENTEKE v TYRONE MINGS

The Belgian international had a running battle with Kurt Zouma throughout the defeat to Chelsea and it will be interesting to see how he plays against his former club and England international Tyrone Mings. This match up will likely go some way to seeing how this game ends up but with the Palace striker back in the goals, we hope he has the taste back.

PREDICTION

The pressure is very much on the hosts to take the points in this game and there is no doubting that they would have targetted as a must win to stand any chance of survival. That is likely to play into the hands of Palace who can play with some freedom and will hope to build on the good showing in the defeat to Chelsea during the week. We can see the Eagles bouncing back from four defeats in a row by playing on the break and beating Villa.

Final score: 1-2
