ONE TO WATCH

CHRISTIAN PULISIC

Former clubs – Brackley Town, Michigan Rush, PA Classics, Borussia Dortmund

The 21 year old attacker has hit a rich vein of form since the restart for Chelsea and will be a real threat for Palace. To date, he has seven Premier League goals to his name and will be keen on making that double figures before the season is out. The American international who has 34 caps certainly knows where the goal is as he has hit the back of the net 14 times for his country.

KEY CLASH

PATRICK VAN AANHOLT v WILLIAN

It has been a tough run of results lately for Palace and there should be a reaction at home in this London derby. The Palace left-back came through the youth set up at Stamford Bridge and will be keen to perform well against them but he will be up against in-form Brazilian attacker, Willian who has scored 3 goals in his last 2 games.

PRE-GAME STATS

  • Top passers – Cesar Azpilicueta (2003), Luka Milivojevic (1301)
  • Chelsea have scored at least 2 goals in their last 7 league games
  • Top scorers – Tammy Abraham (13), Jordan Ayew (9)
  • Chelsea have won their last 4 matches against Palace in all competitions
  • Top assists – Cesar Azpilicueta (6), James McArthur (3), Wilfried Zaha (3)
  • Palace have failed to score in each of their last 3 league games
  • Top tackles – James McArthur (76), Cesar Azpilicueta (74)

PREDICTION

A dominant display by Chelsea at the weekend got them back on track after the disappointment of losing to West Ham United. That result in itself should give Palace some hope in that their next opponents can be beaten but the performances of late suggest that having nothing to play for does not suit the Eagles. We can see a first goal being scored by the hosts since the win at Bournemouth, but it will unlikely be enough to prevent a fourth defeat in a row against a side fighting for a Champions League spot for next season.

Final score: 1-2

BETTING ODDS

  • Home – 6/1
  • Draw – 16/5
  • Away – 4/9
  • Both teams to score – Evens
