ONE TO WATCH

JOHN LUNDSTRAM

Former clubs – Everton, Doncaster Rovers (loan), Yeovil Town (loan), Leyton Orient (loan), Blackpool (loan), Scunthorpe United (loan), Oxford United

For a 25 year old, Lundstram has been at a few clubs in his short career but he is a player that spent a lot of time on loan after graduating from the youth academy at Goodison Park. He never made a full appearance for the Merseyside club before a permanent move to Oxford in 2015 and joined the Blades in 2017 for a fee believed to be in the region of £700,000.

KEY CLASH

JAMES TOMKINS v OLIVER MCBURNIE

This will be quite a battle as the former Swansea striker has proven to be a real handful this season as the Blades have surprised everyone. Even though Tomkins will likely lose the armband, he will relish this match up which will have a big say in deciding which side takes the points.

PRE-GAME STATS

  • Top passers – Oliver Norwood (1,335), Jack O’Connell (1,077)
  • Palace have kept a clean sheet in their last 3 home matches against Sheffield United in all competitions
  • Top scorers – Jordan Ayew (6), John Fleck (5)
  • 3 out of the last 5 games between the two sides have been 1-0 home wins
  • Top assists – George Baldock (3), Lys Mousset (3)
  • Top tackles – Enda Stevens (58), James McArthur (52)

PREDICTION

The visitors will want to continue their great form this season as they seek a top ten finish in their first season back in the Premier League. It has not been a too different season for the Eagles and a win here will go a long way to making up for that awful loss against the Saints last time out. However, this Sheffield United side are hard to beat and a point would not be too disappointing.

Final score: 1-1

OPPOSITION VIEW

We spoke to Ben Meakin from the excellent Blades Pod earlier in the season so we took the opportunity to catch up with him again ahead of their trip down to South London.

BETTING ODDS

  • Home – 2/1
  • Draw – 2/1
  • Away – 6/4
  • Both teams to score – 11/10
