Well hello again. After an extended hiatus, I’m back to offer you fantasy information that will hopefully help you get the most out of your teams.
This week we look at budget options who not only allow you to spend more elsewhere but also offer a fair amount of upside. Let’s dive right into it!
Forward: Joselu – Stoke City, 5.5, 0.5%
The Spaniard has had a very productive season since his move to Newcastle. He opened his account in his first start for the club and currently leads the league in shots on target with nine. With four his next five opponents sitting outside the top ten defences, Joselu could be set for a breakout.
Midfielder: Pascal Groß – Brighton & Hove Albion, 5.4, 2.6%
It’s always dangerous chasing past points, but in Groß’ case it could well be repeatable. He currently sits top five in accurate crosses in the Premier League, and sits first or second in almost every meaningful stat for Brighton. Like Joselu, Gross has a really favourable schedule coming up when he faces three of the league’s five worst defences.
Defender: Jesus Gamez – Newcastle United, 4.0, 2.4%
The inflation of defenders prices in the 2017 edition of the official game has seen a massive decline in usable 4.0 defenders. In steps Jesus Gamez who made his first start of the season last week to the tune of eight points. DeAndre Yedlin’s return could bring an end to the Gamez experiment, but he has as a better shot at retaining his place than most of the other bargain bin defenders.
Goalkeeper: Robert Elliot – Newcastle United, 4.0, 21.5%
Elliot is obviously the highest owned budget option due to his role as Newcastle’s starting keeper and his performances are now starting to pick up. He has two consecutive clean sheets now and sits top five in points at the position. Those things considered, Elliot is the affordable version of a must own player for now.
