Not unexpectedly, if only for the time it took to happen, but Steve Mandanda has finally made the switch back to his former club Marseille where he has signed a three year deal for an undisclosed fee.
The 32 year old French international goalkeeper made just nine appearances for Palace during the 2016/17 Premier League season after signing for the Eagles in July 2016.
Mandanda returns to the club where he made over 400 appearances in nine seasons, winning the league title and three league cups in that time. In his final season at the club before making the move to South London, he won Ligue 1’s goalkeeper of the year award.
Regardless of the reasons behind Mandanda not settling, it is a real shame that it did not work out as many were excited by the addition to the squad last summer.
All at TEB wish Steve all the best for the future.
