We conducted a poll on Twitter to find out how fans ranked the summer transfer window from a Palace perspective. The result proved that the majority of fans are happy with the new additions.
Perhaps the fact that there were not replacements for Yannick Bolasie and Mile Jedinak prevented fans from voting for a higher grade, however, this has arguably been the best transfer window ever for the South London club.

IN
- Steve Mandanda (Marseille – fee undisclosed)
- James Tomkins (West ham United – fee £10m)
- Andros Townsend (Newcastle United – fee £13m)
- Christian Benteke (Liverpool – fee undisclosed)
- Loic Remy (Chelsea – loan)
The quality of the additions to the squad are more than many fans expected this summer and while the recruitment has not quite matched the departures, there is plenty to be happy about. In just two games, Steve Mandanda has proven that he is the competent goalkeeper that we had all hoped he was. It is early days for James Tomkins as was unfortunate enough to suffer injury during pre-season so we have not seen a lot of him. Andros Townsend has shown plenty of glimpses of what we can expect to see as the season grows older as has record signing Christian Benteke in just a game and a half. The most recent signing, Loic Remy should make his debut at Middlesborough so we look forward to seeing him in action.

- Marouane Chamakh (released)
- Luke Croll (Exeter City – loan)
- Dwight Gayle (Newcastle United – fee £10m)

- Jonny Williams (Ipswich Town – loan)
It was perhaps expected the list of players that were released in the summer which freed up plenty of salary to use on potential incoming players. However, when you add to the list the sales of Bolasie, Jedinak and Gayle it has left Palace one man short for the squad that has been announced which you can see below. It is interesting to note that while other clubs have used up their allocation of players, our next opponents Middlesbrough have named FOUR goalkeepers. There is no doubt that there will be reinforcements coming in during the January transfer window, but you have to consider that Paddy McCarthy had a place in the squad last season and never played!
PREMIER LEAGUE SQUAD
The club have named their squad which will remain unchanged until the January transfer window opens. As many have already noticed, there are only twenty-four players named out of the maximum twenty-five spots available. Of course, under twenty-one players qualify to play for the first team without the need to take up a spot in the squad but several of those that would likely have been given the nod have been sent out on loan.
