New Season, New League, New Challenges And New Sponsor

Exciting times at Palace Ladies continue as the club heads into the first fixture of a debut season at the highest level in the FA pyramid this Sunday against well fancied Coventry United.

In addition to all the regular pre-season activity at the training ground, we signaled our continued development and intent off the pitch.

As a tangible result of the ever strengthening position within the main club, we proudly announced a major new sponsorship deal that will significantly assist the first team set-up at a time when the requirements and associated costs, are only heading one way.

Together with Crystal Palace Football Club, we have joined up with Utilita Energy, the leading independent prepay gas and electricity provider. The deal will see all four ladies teams in the senior section wear the new Utilita sponsored Palace kits for match days across the leagues with Ultilta also becoming a club partner at Selhurst Park.

This is a huge moment for us on so many levels. We have worked tirelessly over the last four or five seasons to demonstrate what our club can offer. With commercial returns very different in the women’s game compared to the men’s, we have focused on creating a unique and attractive opportunity for any forward thinking and proactive partner.

With all the efforts on the pitch, our vision has been made all the more credible and we have been able to develop a very attractive opportunity for sponsors and partners. Our work with the highly regarded Lark Insurance over the last four years has been instrumental and showed that we were creating a viable product. However, with the ever increasing costs that a club like ours face, we could not rest on our laurels.

The fact that we now share access to a significant club partner speaks volumes as to our progress and to work with a company like Utilita, who themselves are breaking the mould with their approach to their business, is something that we are very proud of. The good news is, that with any business that we continue to generate for Utilita, the deal keeps giving. In a week that has sadly seen two well established teams in Forest Green Rovers and Nuneaton Town disappear from the league, it has never been more evident as to how important external support is.

Everyone at the club is extremely grateful to the whole team at Selhurst Park, the support shown by Parish and Phil Alexander being essential. We would also like to thank commercial director Barry Webber and his team for their great efforts to bring the deal in ahead of the new season. With all things being equal and a dash of last minute luck, we will be sporting the new kits as we take to the pitch for our first FAWPL game of the season on Sunday.
