NEW SIGNING – James Tomkins

The third signing of the summer has been unveiled as James Tomkins makes the move across London from West Ham United.

The defender has signed a five year contract for a fee of £10 million and is reunited with former Hammers boss Alan Pardew.

The twenty-seven year old joined West Ham in 1997 and has worked his way through the famous youth academy, making his first team debut against Everton in 2008. After a brief spell on loan at Derby County, he went on to make over two hundred appearances for the Hammers and scoring eight goals.

The Basildon born defender has yet to make his full England debut but has been a regular throughout the youth team from under 16 all the way through to under 21 level. In 2012 he made two appearances for the Great Britain side that took part in the London Olympics.

Welcome to Palace James!
