Crystal Palace have completed the signing of winger Andros Townsend from Newcastle United.
He joins Palace in a five year deal for a fee of £13 million.
Born in Leytonstone, Townsend began his career in the youth team at Tottenham Hotspur, breaking into the first team in 2009. The twenty-four year old had several loan spells during his time at White Hart Lane including stints at Watford, Leeds United and Queens Park Rangers.
After fifty appearances for Spurs, he decided to join Newcastle in the January transfer window at the start of the year as the club bid to stay in the Premier League. It was not to be the case but it was not for the want of trying by Townsend who quickly became a fan favourite scoring four goals in thirteen appearances.
He has featured heavily in the England youth set up, representing at under 16, 17, 19 and 21 levels before making his full debut in 2013. To date he has eleven caps and scored three goals.
Welcome to the club Andros!
