Our resident Baggies fan Dan Watts from Baggies Facts shares his views with TEB on the season so far for the club from the Hawthorns and what he expects from their trip to South London.
Q. Perhaps you could start by telling us your hopes and dreams for Albion this season before a ball was kicked.
As always survival is key. This season is bigger than ever in terms of making sure you are in the hat for the big money next term. Many Baggies fans I am sure would like us to finish higher up and we may well do, but first things first. Survival.
Q. Did the club do the business you had hoped in the summer or were there still some needs as the transfer window closed?
Absolutely. We did some good business in the summer and it appears the signings were much more well thought out as opposed to the summer before. It would have been nice to get some fullbacks signed but even so I doubt Pulis would be able to fit them in to his side anyway! He does like a centre back at fullback and in our case Chris Brunt is oir first choice left back nowadays!
Q. What is the fan view of the Saido Berahino situation and do you want him sold in January?
I do. It is all rosy again following his winner against the Villa but it will not be long before we see his childish antics again. No matter how good he is, which believe me he is one of the best I have seen in blue and white, he does not appear to learn. His Twitter rant following his failure to move to Tottenham Hotspur in the window showed his true feelings and his lack of respect for the club that helped put him where he is today.
Q. It is no secret that your owner Jeremy Peace has been actively looking to sell the club but has this created an air of uncertainty or is it business as usual?
Business as usual. He is well respected for his professionalism. He will find a buyer at some point I am sure but there is no rush from a fans point of view.
Q. How are you finding life under Tony Pulis?
He did a great job last season. The amount of clean sheets he managed to get out of our side coupled with some decent performances and a mid-table finish is tough to ignore. He was the perfect appointment for our situation. Some doubt his ability to get us playing a more attractive style and they could well be right but one thing is for sure, with Pulis at the helm the chances of relegation are significantly decreased.
Q. Who do you think will win the domestic trophies this season – Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup?
Manchester City for the league, they will get over there little blip.
Arsenal could well make it a trio of cup wins. Maybe.
Norwich City for the League Cup, at least we will have been knocked out by the champions then!
Q. Thoughts ahead of your trip to Selhurst Park?
Slightly concerned that you are going to unlock our defence. We have some injury concerns at the back and have a habit of conceding three goals. In all of our league and cup games this term we have either conceded three or kept a clean sheet. Very strange.
Q. Which player from West Brom should we be wary of and which player from Palace should you be wary of?
I would have said Solomon Rondon. I am certain he is going to score a fair few once he gets going. Unfortunately he is missing with an injury so I will have to say Saido Berahino, begrudingly! For Palace, I think any of your wide men on their day could punish us, particularly Yannick Bolasie.
Q. Your prediction?
As I said to your friends over at Palace Fan TV my head says a 2-0 Palace win but my heart says a clean sheet and a late goal to snatch all three points.
Q. And finally, this is your chance to tell us about anything that you are working on or any fan sites you suggest we check out.
Unfortunately my website Baggies Facts is out of action for a year due to other commitments but my Twitter feed is as active as ever. I am writing a few articles about the Premier League for TEB throughout the season though.
