Fantasy Preview – Match Week 32

After another international break it is back to business for the Premier League in what is one of the busiest months of the year fixture wise. Here are my tips for your teams this weekend.

10

Buy: Harry Kane – Forward, Tottenham Hotspur, 10.4

Kane is on a tear right now having notched five goals and an assist in just the last three matches! He leads the golden boot race with twenty-one goals and now gets to face Liverpool’s bottom ten defense. If Martin Skrtel starts Kane could easily earn his third consecutive brace.

Sell: Eden Hazard – Midfielder, Chelsea, 10.8

Not only is Eden Hazard questionable for this weekend, but even if he plays he would not earn you enough points to validate his high price tag. Quick guess the last time he had a shot on target? If you guessed MW15, you nailed it. Yes, Aston Villa are poor, but honestly, even that may not be enough to get Hazard back to his old ways.

9

Buy: Daniel Sturridge – Forward, Liverpool, 9.9

This may sound crazy, but bear with me. I know he has a difficult matchup against Tottenham’s league best defence this week, but after that things get a lot more enticing. Liverpool are the only team with two double game weeks (33 and 37) and a fixture in MW35. He has scored four goals in his last four matches with sixty plus minutes played and has a staggering seventy-seven shot percentage.

Sell: David Silva – Midfielder, Manchester City, 9.9

Silva has earned more than three points just twice in his last ten matches. At 9.9 the upside of just one assist is not nearly worth the price, regardless of opponent.

8

Buy: Romelu Lukaku – Forward, Everton, 8.9

Making a case for Lukaku just based on form is easy enough, but his upcoming fixtures make him the best forward option until the end of the season. Why? With double fixtures in MW33 and MW34 Lukaku will be playing five matches in the next three weeks. Considering Everton’s fourth ranked attack the chances will continue to fall his way and, with this many matches on the horizon, he is a must own.

Sell: Olivier Giroud – Forward, Arsenal, 8.8

We knew that Giroud and Alexis had difficulties playing together, but even the staunchest doubter must be impressed with his barren run. Not only has Giroud failed to score since the Chilean’s return, but he is averaging just one shot on target per game. Even if he gets the start at the weekend, which is far from a guarantee, he will be facing Watford’s defence who are tied for fifth best in the league.

7

Buy: Willian – Midfielder, Chelsea, 7.1

His fantasy production has dropped a touch since Costa was suspended, but with twenty chances created in his last five matches you can rest easy knowing that his performances are as good as ever. Fortunately for Willian, it should not matter who starts up front for Chelsea this week as they face Aston Villa’s league worst defence.

Sell: Ross Barkley – Midfielder, Everton, 7.1

You are not selling Barkley because Everton are not scoring goals, you are selling him because he has been involved in just two of their last fifteen! Aaron Lennon has literally scored three times more points than Barkley’s ten over the last five weeks. Aaron. Lennon.

6

Buy: Salomon Rondon – Forward, West Bromwich Albion, 6.6

Rondon has quietly gone on a tear the past few weeks with three goals and an assist in his last five matches. While he is not a high-volume shooter his finishing rate has been incredible, scoring on four of his last seven shots on target. At just 1.9% owned, Rondon is my differential player of the week.

Sell: Vincent Kompany – Defender, Manchester City, 6.3

Just a few quick points. He is out for the month, is the sixth most expensive defender, and is still 13% owned. Why own him? That is not a rhetorical question. Someone please explain his ownership to me?

5

Buy: Connor ‘Wickhaldinho’ Wickham – Forward, Crystal Palace, 5.5

It looks as though Wickham finally had his shooting boots sent down from Sunderland. He has scored four goals and earned an assist in the last five matches and he has missed the last two! You are really buying him for the double week he has in MW33 where he will have the pleasure of attacking two of the six worst defences in the league (Everton and Norwich City).

Sell: Stoke City Defenders

Most of the credit for Stoke’s defensive resurgence is owed to Jack Butland. His 103 saves are ten more than the next goalkeeper and, without his presence, the odds of Stoke keeping clean sheets will plummet.

4

Buy: Marcus Rashford  – Forward, Manchester United, 4.5

He came out of nowhere but in his four matches Rashford has scored three goals giving him a 100% shot accuracy! With Martial shunted out wide in favour of the young Englishman, Rashford is a must own until Rooney returns. Have I mentioned Everton’s defence is the sixth worst in the league?

Sell: Rob Eliot – Goalkeeper, Newcastle United, 4.0

After a tremendous debut season, his 2015/16 has come to an early end due to a knee injury sustained on international duty. If you are looking for another price sink goalkeeper look no further than Eliot’s young successor, Karl Darlow (3.9).
