View From The Britannia

To continue our recent theme of views from the opposition, Stoke City fan Ian Ellis was willing to answer our questions ahead of the game this weekend. You can interact with Ian on Twitter.

Q. How has your season gone so far in your view?

Pretty average so far really but not too bad to be honest.

Q. Are you happy with how things have gone at the club since Mark Hughes was appointed manager?

Yes, we are playing much better football and a lot more attacking.

Q. Where do you think you will finish this season in both the league and cup competitions?

Hopefully with a bit of luck we could finish in the top ten and regarding the FA Cup, well, we are away to Chelsea in the next round so that will be a struggle to get any further I think.

Q. What signings do you hope or expect to be made during the transfer window?

We have signed Stephen Ireland permanently and John Guidetti on loan from Manchester  City. Hopefully we can get another striker and a defender before the window closes.

Q. Which Stoke player has impressed and which has disappointed this season?

I have been impressed with Charlie Adam, Geoff Cameron and Glenn Whelan. But I’ve been very disappointed with Kenwyne Jones and Wilson Palacious so far.

Q. Who should Palace be wary of in the game on Saturday?

Definately midfielder Charlie Adam and striker Peter Crouchis in great form. So is Liverpool loanee Assaidi.

Q. Who do you think Stoke should be concerned about from the Palace line up?

Of course it has to be Cameron Jerome, if he was playing. Otherwise, Chamakh has been dangerous in recent games.

Q. How do you think Palace have fared so far in their return to the Premier League?

Very poor until our former manager Tony Pulis took over. Now with him at the helm, I think you have a very good chance of staying up.

Q. And finally, your prediction for this one?

Sorry, but I am going to have to go with an away win. Perhaps a 2-1 to Stoke with Crouch and Assaidi as the scorers.
