It does not feel that long ago when the Eagles demolished the Toffees at Selhurst Park on their way to the FA Cup semi finals, but plenty has changed since.

PREVIOUS MEETING
These two last met in November in an entertaining league game which Everton edged late on. The visitors took a first minute lead courtesy of Ukrainiain defender Vitaliy Mykolenko before Ebere Eze levelled things up from the spot just minutes later. Abdoulaye Doucoure gave Everton the lead shortly after the break but Palace fought back to find an equaliser from Odsonne Edouard. ONE TO WATCH
DWIGHT MCNEIL
FORMER CLUBS – Manchester United, Burnley
The winger made the move to Goodison Park in 2022 and has taken some time to adjust but since his former manager Sean Dyche has joined the club, he has become an important part of what the Toffees do. After making well over a century of appearances for Burnley, he has already wracked up over 50 for Everton.
KEY CLASH
JEAN-PHILIPPE MATETA v JAMES TARKOWSKI
The in form Frenchman will no doubt lead the line in this FA Cup tie and has been in great form of late. His hold up play has improved immensely and was a key part of the victory over Brentford at the weekend. JP will be up against a season defender in Tarkowski who, as we know, enjoyed winding Wilfried Zaha up when playing Palace. No fear of that happening with JP, who will no doubt just laugh it off.

THE NUMBERS
Palace have progressed through to the next round in just 2 of their 6 FA Cup ties against Everton, although they did win their most recent encounter in March 2022 (4-0).
Everton have already won away against Palace this season, beating them 3-2 in the Premier League. The last time they won 2 away games against an opponent in the same season was at West Ham United in 2007-08.
Palace have lost 3 of their last 4 FA Cup third round matches, with the exception coming in 2021-22 when they reached the semi-final of the competition.
Everton have lost 7 of their last 9 FA Cup games against fellow Premier League sides (W2), losing all four away games in this run.
The Toffees are without a win in their last 12 FA Cup games in London (D4 L8), since beating Manchester United 1-0 at Wembley Stadium in the 1995 final.
TEB PREDICTION
The third round has not been kind to Palace in recent years, other than the tie against these opponents which saw the Eagles make it to the semi final stage – perhaps drawing them is a lucky omen? Perhaps it needs to be as we can’t see, to have good things at the moment. With all the furore about recent results, we manage an victory at the weekend to boost the mood, and then came the news about Olise. However, it does sound like Roy Hodgson is keen to give the FA Cup a go and hopefully that will be the case. As we are half glass full kind of guys, we are going for a tight victory to see us into the fourth round courtesy of an unexpected hero.
FINAL SCORE: 2-1 Palace
