Crystal Palace Concern As Tottenham Spend £25million On Yves Bissouma

Crystal Palace fans fear Yves Bissouma’s transfer to Tottenham Hotspur for £25million this summer may hinder their transfer plans. Such transfers for players have an impact on the overall team performance, similar to transfers in football which affect college football odds.

The Times reported that 25-year-old Bissouma signed a five-year contract with the Spurs after undergoing a medical. This concludes his four-year tenure with the Seagulls.

Bissouma will become the third player brought in by Antonio Conte this summer, following goalkeeper Fraser Forster and Croatian international Ivan Perisic.

The deal will be detrimental to Brighton manager Graham Potter and his squad, but Palace supporters are concerned about what it could mean for their team. In this window, both Brighton and Palace are looking to add a defensive midfielder.

Crystal Palace Signings

The Eagles have reportedly agreed to personal terms with highly regarded Lens player Cheick Doucoure after rejecting a £14.5 million offer this week.

Once Bissouma’s departure is confirmed, Palace supporters are concerned that Brighton will attempt to hijack the deal for Patrick Vieira’s top transfer target. The Ligue 1 club is asking for approximately £21 million.

This summer, it was reported that Brighton, Palace, Arsenal, Wolves, and Everton were interested in signing Doucoure, but the Eagles appear to lead the way for his signature.

According to reports, Doucoure’s decision to come to Selhurst Park was influenced by the opportunity to work for French football legend Vieira.

Palace supporters will remain anxious until the contract is signed, sealed, and delivered. One Twitter user commented on Bissouma’s move to the Spurs on Tuesday morning, “I won’t laugh at Brighton losing Bissouma until we acquire Doucoure.”

“The Spurs’ signing of Bissouma makes me feel like we need to finalise this Doucoure deal as soon as possible,” said a second individual. Brighton could pursue him because they need a defensive midfielder and have the funds to acquire one.

Tottenham Secure The Midfielder

After reaching an agreement with Brighton, Tottenham signed Yves Bissouma.

The Mali player has become one of the Premier League’s best midfielders outside the top six. Bissouma joined the club from Lille for a nominal fee in July 2018 and has since appeared in 124 matches. But the way he plays has caught the attention of a few heavyweight teams.

Last summer, Liverpool was the subject of much discussion, and Reds scouts conducted multiple checks. In January, Aston Villa tried to sign him. Arsenal has also been discussed recently.

With only one year remaining on the five-year deal he signed when he arrived in Brighton four years ago, the club was compelled to sell. Multiple attempts were made to convince the 25-year-old player to sign a new contract.

However, the opportunity to play for Antonio Conte and in the Champions League was ultimately too good to pass up.

According to reports, Spurs and Brighton have finalised the terms of his transfer. They will initially pay the Seagulls £25 million, with additional payments bringing the total to £30 million.

Brighton wanted more than £30 million upfront, but it appears an agreement has been reached.

Yves Bissouma’s Transfer- Another Missed Brilliant Signing Crystal Palace

With Bissouma in their squad, Tottenham will significantly improve. The Malian has made a name for himself as one of the best and most complete midfielders in the Premier League, even though the position is already crowded.

Even though Bissouma had to compete against Skipp, Hojbjerg, and Bentacur, three multi-talented superstars, he now has the experience and skills necessary to lead Spurs to the next level.

In addition, it gives them something else to do on what is sure to be a busy schedule, given their return to the Champions League.

It will be intriguing to see who Spurs sign in addition to Bissouma, Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster this summer. Next, Conte and Fabio Paratici will focus on the middle of their defense. The club has been seeking a left-sided central defender for quite some time.

People are becoming increasingly confident that Spurs will be able to catch up to Manchester City and Liverpool next season if they complete this signing and possibly acquire a new right back.
