ONE TO WATCH

JUSTIN KLUIVERT
FORMER CLUBS – Jong Ajax, Ajax, Roma, RB Leipzig (loan), Nice (loan), Valencia (loan)
The talented Dutch attacker is expected to return to the starting line up after injury and that will be a challenge to the Palace defence as he has been in fine form this season having played his part in seeing Bournemouth on the brink of qualifying for European competition next season.

THE NUMBERS

After winning 5 consecutive Premier League games against Bournemouth between May 2019 and May 2023, Palace have now failed to win or even score in their last 3 against the Cherries (D1 L2).

Bournemouth have kept a clean sheet in their last 3 Premier League games against Palace – only against Swansea have they had a longer run without conceding in the competition (4 between 2016 and 2018).

Palace have won each of their last 3 home Premier League matches, with their only run of 4 home wins in a row in the competition coming in April/May last season.

Bournemouth have scored 32 away Premier League goals this season, with only Liverpool scoring more (40). It’s their most in a top-flight campaign, with 27 being their previous most from last season.

In all competitions, Oliver Glasner has won 13 of his 26 home matches as Palace manager, a win ratio of 50%. Of managers to take 20+ games at Selhurst Park, this is the best win ratio since Iain Dowie won 32 of 61 home games between 2003 and 2006 (52.5%).

Each of Bournemouth’s last 2 away Premier League matches have ended 2-2 and they’ve both scored and conceded 2 or more goals in 7 away games this season, the joint most of any side along with Liverpool. Only 4 sides have done so in 8 away games in a season, most recently Tottenham Hotspur last season.

Bournemouth are winless in their last 10 Premier League games in London (D5 L5) since a 2-0 win at Palace back in December 2023. Each of their last 4 games in the capital have all ended 2-2 in draws against Fulham, Chelsea, Spurs and West Ham this season.

Jean-Phillipe Mateta has scored 18 goals in 22 Premier League appearances at Selhurst Park under Oliver Glasner, the most ever by a Palace player on home soil under a single manager. He is averaging a goal every 98 minutes, also the best ratio of any player to play 10+ games for one manager.

Evanilson has scored 6 goals in his last 9 away Premier League appearances for Bournemouth and, with Justin Kluivert scoring 10 away goals this season, 2024-25 is the first campaign to see two Cherries players find the net 5 or more times on the road in the top-flight.

Eberechi Eze has had a hand in 19 Premier League goals in his last 30 home appearances for Crystal Palace (12 goals, 7 assists), while he netted a brace in his only previous home game against Bournemouth in May 2023.

KEY CLASH

TYRICK MITCHELL v ANTOINE SEMENYO
The Palace full back has struggled in the last couple of games, both defensively and offensively, and it could be a decision by Oliver Glasner to start Ben Chilwell for this fixture and give Mitchell a break. However, he will be up against the tricky bustling Bournemouth attacker which will be a test for whoever starts at left back.

TEB PREDICTION

After the last couple of fixtures, who knows what Palace will give us this weekend. Perhaps one positive is that the Eagles return to Selhurst Park after two horrific away trips which they have hopefully got out of their system. Meanwhile, the visitors are unbeaten in two games having ended a run of three consecutive losses.

It would be very Palace to get a result from this fixture, but right now, it is exceptionally difficult to call with the FA Cup semi-final a week away. Would it be a bad thing if we were all in for the FA Cup? However, a losing run going into that game would not be a good thing. We are going bold and predicting Palace to edge this one.

PREDICTED SCORE: 2-1 to Palace
