Four Players To Light Up The Premier League This Season

The sport of football is once again being built up as the finest in the world now that the new season is well under way.

There is no doubt that more than a third of the world is hyped up about the 2017-18 Premier League season. Every team has already had the opportunity to show off their new additions made over the summer but, it is exciting to see how things will go for those players that need to get used to their new surroundings and quickly.

The top sides have had a number of vital additions, while the underdogs have managed to be more than active this summer which all suggests that the Premier League promises to be an interesting one once again this seaason.

Here are some of the players that many are expecting will impress for their new employers:

Mohamed Salah

Getting Mohamed Salah from Roma to play for Liverpool is an expensive addition for the team. But nonetheless, it seems a worthwhile deal as the 25-year-old Egyptian has scored a whopping 19 goals and made 11 assists during his career to date.

That is surely an impressive resume to start off for Liverpool this season. He pretty much excels in almost all aspects of the game, such as finishing, through balls, shots from distance, and passing. His dribbling and cutting inside style-of-play will no doubt contribute to Jurgen Klopp’s high-octane game plan.

Liverpool are currently fifth in the betting at 28/1 to win the Premier League. The Reds has also been the favorites ahead of most games and continue to be with 4/5 odds available against Spartak Moscow. Even for the game against Newcastle United, the Reds have strong odds of 4/6.

Kieran Trippier

Kieran Trippier, at 26-years of age, is expected to have much more joy this season with the first team now that Kyle Walker has left for Manchester City and with Danny Rose on the side lines. It will be pretty interesting to see Trippier being given more starts to see what he can do for the North London club.

Having made five appearances in the FA Cup and just a single appearance in the Premier League, Tripper still has a long way to go. Every player starts from humble beginnings, and his career might just accelerate now he has more chances to showcase his skills. Being an excellent passer and crosser, he sure has what it takes to be a success at Spurs.

Tottenham has Premier League betting odds of 20/1 and currently sitting in a good position in the league at this early stage of the season. They are often favourites ahead of their match ups and they are expected to reign over Nicosia, and Huddersfield Town with 2/9 and 2/5 odds respectively.

Paul Pogba

Then there’s the 24-year-old Paul Pogba who might just be the answer for Manchester United’s failure up front last season. For this year’s Premier League, Pogba is expected to work hand in hand with Romelu Lukaku having been freed up with the addition of Nemanja Matic so will not be needed quite so much in the midfield.

This will open up a whole bunch of midfielder opportunities for the Frenchman. In knowing that he’s one of the best when it comes to through balls and long shots, it’s pretty clear that he’ll help the team dominate once more. And don’t forget that dribbling is his forte.

United are still battling away for supremacy as they have one eye on Manchester City. The Red Devils currently have odds of 3/1 to win the Premier League. Ahead of their game against CSKA Moscow, odds of 4/6 are offered, while for the game against  Crystal Palace, they get a strong 1/6 contrary to the visitors 16/1.

Mikel Merino

Though things are not yet permanent when it comes to Merino staying with the Magpies, it might just be the reason why he is worth checking out. His determination to become a midfielder is what drove him to be a part of the team.

Take note that he took a centre-back role at his previous team, Borussia Dortmund, which he wasn’t really happy about. But now that he has got what he wants, it’s safe to say that he might just settle quickly with with his new team.

Being a great passer with an 83.7% success rate, he surely has what it takes to be a vital asset for Newcastle United. He’s still 21-years-old and while he has a lot left to learn, that is likely to fuel his passion for excelling in the position he loves.

Meanwhile, Merino’s Newcastle United managed to make it into the top ten ahead of this weekend’s fixtures, sitting ninth with odds of 750/1 to win the title but they will continue to enjoy being the underdog this season no doubt.
