Only Connect Wall:
If you have watched ‘Only Connect’ on BBC2 you will be familiar with the Connecting Wall round. Here is one specific to Palace.
There are sixteen names in the table below, all surnames of players that have played for the club. Arrange them into four groups of four, where the four players in each group have something in common (other than playing for Palace!).
One group of four should be pretty easy if you know your Palace history – start with that one and take it from there. But look out for red herrings – names that could appear in more than one group!
| Sansom | Murphy | Gray | Delaney |
| Morrison | Bright | Wright | Johnson |
| Houghton | Pardew | Nicholas | McGoldrick |
| O’Reilly | Mulligan | Linighan | Dorman |
The four goalscorers in the 1990 FA Cup semi-final
| Bright | Gray | O’Reilly | Pardew |
Players sold to Arsenal
| Sansom | Nicholas | Wright | McGoldrick |
Republic of Ireland Internationals (and capped while at Palace)
| Mulligan | Murphy | Houghton | Delaney |
All called Andy (not Clinton!)
| Dorman | Johnson | Linighan | Morrison |
